DR. HATTIE LIU, NEW STAR FOUNDER
Dr. Hattie is a trained Toastmaster and won many speech contests since 1996. She served as the district evaluation contest master in 2000, was seen on broadband television, and reported on the Chinese World Daily newspaper.
Dr. Hattie taught college students chemistry at Georgia Tech and in Collin County Community College.
Since 1996, Dr. Hattie has been actively teaching ESL, ladies and children’s Bible classes, and youth leadership programs in her church.
Before she founded New Star in 2004, Dr. Hattie traveled to many countries as a scientist and business professional. She uses her experiences to teach students how to research and to appreciate cultural diversity.
Dr. Hattie’s goal is to inspire students to achieve academic excellence and master the important communication and leadership skills that benefit them for the long term.
Our Mission
Since founded in 2004, New Star's mission is to help students achieve academic excellence and develop their full potential through positive encouragement, improved self-confidence, and teacher-guided learning. Our school is committed to providing outstanding academic advancement and well-managed extracurricular programs to our students.
New Star is a licensed education center by the State of Texas for students of elementary, and middle school.
New Star academic programs include:
- After-school education for elementary students
- Summer school for grade K - middle school students

Our teachers and support team use proven methodologies and a highly effective curriculum to help children grow academically, socially, and physically. We regularly participate in professional training in order to improve our skills and offer a better learning experience for the children.
